Well, I suppose its time for my yearly LJ update. I would like to say things are better than they were at this time last year, but its not even close. It's been almost 2 years now since I graduated, and I still have not found a job. I mean, yeah I go to work every day, and earn money, but its only a temp position (that a monkey could do) with no benefits. I must have applied to hundreds of jobs in that time period, and I can count the number of interviews I've made it to on one hand. On top of that I was informed today by my boss that his boss has told him that they will be letting temps go in the very near future due to budget cuts. That means I have maybe 1 or 2 weeks tops until I am unemployed completely. On top of that Dianna still doesn't have a job despite her constant looking for literally ANY JOB. Needless to say a household can not pay the bills when neither member is working. So, in order to hopefully help find a job I'm going to ask you guys for help. Here's my resume. I have a BS in Psychology, experience in management, Marketing, secretarying and a bit of freelance game writing work. If anyone knows of any job openings that I even remotely qualify for I would love to hear about it. Thanks, -Saleem Saleem Robert Halabi 5275 West Mountain Street • Stone Mountain Georgia • 30083 404-423-1918 • halabis@yahoo.com EDUCATION6 Valdosta State University Valdosta, Georgia B.S. in Psychology Valdosta State University 12/2006 WORK EXPERIENCE 09/07 – 03/08 Marketing Intern CCP North America Atlanta, Georgia • Generate articles and website content supporting multiple game lines • Create banner ads for online marketing campaigns • Conduct interviews and write articles for Quarterly publication • Edit short stories & articles for Quarterly publication. • Generate retailer news letters and fact sheets • Playtest and troubleshoot multiple products to discover errors and implement improvements • Assist in developing internal universal reference document for EVE: Online • Freelance writing for upcoming unannounced board game 02/07 – Current Temp Georgia Institute of Technology Atlanta, Georgia • Resume previous duties from 09/00-08/04 09/06 – 01/07 Receiving Manager The Wooden Nickel Pub Valdosta, Georgia • Oversee daily restaurant operations of approximately 85 employees • Train new employees in customer service, sales, and operations • Inventory supplies and place orders with vendors • Account for money from daily sales and complete sales reports 03/03 – Current Volunteer Coordinator North Georgia Games Atlanta, Georgia • Plan, budget, purchase, prepare, organize, and serve meals for up to 100 people • Supervise volunteer work force of up to 10 people • Evaluate rules systems for mechanical viability & consistency 09/00 – 08/04 Student Assistant Georgia Institute of Technology Atlanta, Georgia • Create, maintain, and verify spreadsheets for tracking of large numbers (200+) of accounts & customer billing • Dispatch technicians for maintenance and repair of campus systems • Create & maintain large preventative maintenance system with over 250 individual pieces of equipment • Develop, maintain, & apply scheduling system for technicians • Receive & allocate work requests • Implement system for entry of technician time card information into database • Logging & entry of purchase card information • Facility Focus Database use • Convert, edit, & upload technical drawings to online database Additional Skills • Well versed in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, FrontPage, and Adobe Acrobat • Basic proficiency in Python & HTML • Skilled in internet and traditional research • Basic understanding of software Quality Assurance principles • Highly proficient in computer use, maintenance, & assembly • Highly creative and task oriented Current Mood: depressed | | Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 | | 1:28 pm |
A year in review.
Well, it's been a little over a year since my last update, so I suppose its time for my annual LJ post. Lets see, I graduated in December with a B.S. in Psychology. It is a useless degree. I've been looking for real employment for the past 10 months with no success. I've been holding back the bills with a temp job at Tech, but its only good for a year before they have to let me go. On a related, and completely awesome, note I just got an internship with White-Wolf. That place is insanely awesome to work at. They have a corporate chef, every night of the week theres something to do after work, whether its Halo 3, an RPG, or office MMO night. Its really cool get an inside look at the functioning of one of my favorite companies. Im a Marketing and CCG intern, which means I do a lot of bitch work and write articles for the EVE CCG website. Its pretty fun so far, but unfortunately its also unpaid, which means I have to divide my time between it and the crappy job at Tech, and am making less money to boot. On a totally unrelated, but even more awesome note, I'm getting married. To the most awesomest person ever. In just a few short days. I'm totally supper stressed about it. Theres so much stuff to do, and too much lazy going around for me to get everything done. The wedding is this Saturday, and then on Monday we hop on a plane and fly down to Disney World for a week. Today we go to the courthouse to get all the paperwork straitened out. Peace. Current Mood: nervousCurrent Music: some song Dianna is playing | | Sunday, September 10th, 2006 | | 4:12 pm |

Note the percentages!!
Very Well-Rounded
You have: 62% SCIENTIFIC INTUITION and 62% EMOTIONAL INTUITION</b> |
| The graph on the right represents your place in Intuition 2-Space. As you can see, you scored above average on emotional intuition and above average on scientific intuition. (Weirdly, your emotional and scientific intuitions are equally strong.) |
|
Your Emotional Intuition score is a measure of how well you understand people, especially their unspoken needs and sympathies. A high score score usually indicates social grace and persuasiveness. A low score usually means you're good at Quake.
Your Scientific Intuition score tells you how in tune you are with the world around you; how well you understand your physical and intellectual environment. People with high scores here are apt to succeed in business and, of course, the sciences. | |
|
My test tracked 2 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
|
You scored higher than 99% on Scientific |
|
You scored higher than 99% on Interpersonal |

tell me its not true! the Ham (43% dark, 52% spontaneous, 38% vulgar) | your humor style: CLEAN | SPONTANEOUS | LIGHT
Your style's mostly goofy, innocent and feel-good. Perfect for parties and for the dads who chaperone them. You can actually get away with corny jokes, and I bet your sense of humor is a guilty pleasure for your friends. People of your type are often the most approachable and popular people in their circle. Your simple & silly good-naturedness is immediately recognizable, and it sets you apart in this sarcastic world.
PEOPLE LIKE YOU: Will Ferrell - Will Smith | | My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender: | You scored higher than 21% on dark | | You scored higher than 67% on spontaneous | | You scored higher than 65% on vulgar |

long time no update | You scored as atheism. You are... an atheist, though you probably already knew this. Also, you probably have several people praying daily for your soul.
Instead of simply being "nonreligious," atheists strongly believe in the lack of existence of a higher being, or God.

well yahoo mail is down, so im posting this here so i can access in the library and print it off for class. www.chadd.org
This is the website for the organization Children and Adults with Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder. It includes useful on AD/HD information for all types of people including families, adults and children with AD/HD, teachers, students, and organizations who have members that might have AD/HD. The website is geared towards helping those with AD/HD, especially in finding someone in their local area to provide them with counseling services.
www.adhd.com
This website is designed to help parents of those with AD/HD and adults with AD/HD. It provides an overview of what AD/HD is as well as tips on handling it. The most helpful thing I found on this site was a test to determine the probability of whether or not a person has Adult AD/HD. Also they have a forum for those with AD/HD to discuss their experiences with one another.
www.adhdnews.com
This website serves as a clearing house for news related to AD/HD. I think that this site would be useful to anyone who wants to keep abreast of the latest developments in AD/HD. This site was particularly useful in that it contained links to many outside sources that had news articles about the latest in AD/HD news.
www.add-adhd.org
This website serves as a FAQ (frequently asked questions) about AD/HD. It seems to be designed around informing parents and teachers about the symptoms and treatments for children with AD/HD. It also contained links to news articles posted on the web and on TV. Also useful, the site had video’s of news articles covering AD/HD.
http://www.edutechsbs.com/adhd/
This site is called the AD/HD owners manual. It is presented a guide for those who have AD/HD. It contains essays describing what it is like having AD/HD and methods of coping and living with it. The site also includes information on the cause of AD/HD and the neurological reasons that it occurs.
http://www.pediatricneurology.com/adhd.htm
This site hosts an entire E-book on the topic of AD/HD. It seems to be directed at anyone who wants to know more about AD/HD, but it uses lots of technical terms that make it practically useful primarily to those who have a strong background in psychology. Beyond its strong technical nature the site has lots of useful information about almost every facet of AD/HD. www.adders.org
This site is presented as an information clearinghouse for those with AD/HD. It is poorly organized, but contains a wealth of information if you are patient enough to navigate its poor layout. The site has contact information for organizations hosting events in support of AD/HD, forums for discussing AD/HD, and many other articles designed to promote awareness of AD/HD.
http://www.help4adhd.org/
This is the home page for the National Resource Center on AD/HD. This site is primarily designed for parents of children with AD/HD. It contains information about the diagnosis and treatment of those with AD/HD and methods of coping with it. It also includes information on how schools handle children with AD/HD. The most useful feature about this site is a link where you can enter in a question about AD/HD, and a healthcare professional will answer your question.
http://kidshealth.org/parent/emotions/behavior/adhd.html
This is a site intended to educate parents on what exactly AD/HD is. It contains a list of the symptoms of the different types of AD/HD, although it doesn’t offer any information about their treatment. It is a good site for learning what exactly AD/HD is, but not for learning any in depth information about it.
http://www.ritalindeath.com/
This website is intended for parents of those with AD/HD. It is designed to inform them of the dangers of the treatments used to control AD/HD. It contains a lot of useful information that could be important to the making of informed decisions regarding whether on not to medicate a child. Unfortunately the site takes a sensationalistic attitude about it and comes across as far too biased. On the positive side it advises that parents learn all that they can about AD/HD before making any decisions that may adversely affect their child’s health.
